STEVE PALMER

Stephen Palmer is an attorney with the law firm, Yavitch & Palmer Co., L.P.A.  He has practice almost exclusively in the area of criminal defense since 1995.

He received a B.A. from the College of Wooster in 1992, where he focused on focused on legal history and philosophy. After undergraduate studies, he received his Juris Doctorate at Capital University Law and Graduate Center in 1995. 

Steve has appeared regularly on The Blitz 99.7 morning show with Loper and Randi. Steve provides legal commentary on a variety of subjects and answers phone-in questions from listeners “on the air.”  Steve currently airs every Wednesday, and his segment has become a weekly mainstay for Blitz listeners.

Two years ago, Steve decided to start his own podcast—Lawyer Talk: Off the Record—to provide more content and long form discussions on a variety of topics. Co-hosts Jeff Linn and Jared Blinsky soon joined Steve at the table, and the show has gained steady popularity. The show takes on all sorts of topics and features regular guests from all walks of life.

Jared appeared on the show as a guest early on. Everyone quickly realized the positive dynamic he brought to the table. It didn’t take long for him to become a regular. Shortly after that, he and Steve collaborated to build a professional studio and founded Channel 511.

Jared is a serial businessman and entrepreneur. He has 25 years of experience founding and maintaining successful businesses. He currently owns and operates a retail store (Advance Vapor Westerville) and an international distributing company. As a professional chef, he also successfully owned and operated businesses in the restaurant and hospitality industries.

Jared is also a co-host of Comedians on South High, another popular Channel 511 podcast.

Norm Murdock is an automobile racing driver and owner of a high performance and restoration car parts company.

Norm earned undergraduate degrees in literature and journalism, and graduated Juris Doctor from the University of Cincinnati College of Law in 1985.

He worked in the IT industry for two years before launching a career in government relations in Columbus, Ohio.

Norm has assisted clients in the Transportation, Education, Healthcare, and Public Infrastructure sectors.

Some of his advocacy achievements include codifying a new Ohio Commercial Passenger Vehicle Inspection Program, working with the Public Utilities Commission and the Ohio State Highway Patrol; passing legislation to establish the Ohio Board of Drug Addiction and Alcoholism Counselors; writing and executing a US DOT grant to demonstrate taxpayer savings of competitive contracting in public transit procurement; and implementing guidance of Financial Disclosure reporting for 800 Ohio school district executives.

Norm's racing successes have come in professional and club racing with IMSA, SCCA, SVRA, and HSR. He participated in the Columbus 500 IMSA SS street race, earned two SCCA Divisional championships, scored the top points nationally in his vintage racing class, and won the overall prize and course record at the Chattanooga downtown time trials. He has raced on track with luminaries such as Jack Hanna, Walter Payton, Bobby Unser, Dan Gurney, Parnelli Jones, and David Hobbs.

Norm has two sons and is an occasional farmer, writer, motorcyclist, globetrotter, and cook.
